Overview:
The enormous Thompson-Bush deficits, triggered by freeing the
wealthiest Americans from federal taxation, have endangered our
ability to pay Social Security benefits in the future.
We should never borrow against funds in the Social Security account. We should extend the Social Security tax to insure that our elderly are cared for. This should be combined with Universal Health Care so that every elderly person can get the drugs and care, including nursing home and rest home care, that they need.
